Great movie. Damn, the more I hear about Pet Sounds the more you realize what a myth it is, like something too beautiful for this world. Wilson is a creative genius in the purest form.

  3. Michael Mansouri schreef:

Wasn't fair to Landy. He was a fucked up and manipulative man, but he did help Brian beat his addiction

does anybody know the song at the beginning?

John and Paul performance are just like a perfect harmony. Warm , Riveting and just captured the essence of Brian.
Thank god! For picking two incredible people to play this part cause I think they fit right it.
Both part in Wilson life are different and I think they both did it perfectly no matter what people says.

Awesome movie..what a musical genius. Wilson in this movie reminds me of the center of the thelema symbol or the rose on the of blood sugar sex magick album cover. I felt terrible for him. John Cusack and Paul Dano fabulous as always. Dano has got to play John Lennon.

Wanted to like this movie, but I really didn't. I like the actors but again, I'm not crazy about the scriptwriting.

I've seen much better music movies.

  21. Aleister Crowly schreef:

this movie is one of the best movies about musicans. Unlike the other movies of Johnny Cash, James Brown, Jim Morrison, Ray Charles and so on (which are no doubt also great) this movie shows a better understanding of the musican himself and his feelings and creating process with his music.

I saw this in June 2015 and sat electrified in the theater…best movie of 2015. Dano literally BECOMES Brian Wilson on the screen and nails his personality in an oscar-worthy performance. Cusack is also quite good as older Brian but Paul Dano steals the show with a masterful performance. Banks, Giamatti, and Jake Abel as Mike Love were also very effective. This movie captures two periods of Brian's life with much depth and feeling and great attention to detail in the 1960's segments. Watching Brian work his musical genius in the studio while making Pet Sounds and Good Vibrations is a treat to watch. You don't have to be a Beach Boys fan to love this movie. It is a great human drama and a must-see for everyone.

  23. Tony Marinelli schreef:

For anyone that knows anything about the Beach Boy and Dennis, this was dead on. From his musical process, the sand in his house, that piece of shit Dr. Lindy and their mentioned the FAMOUS Wrecking Crew, who were the AMAZING studio people who if you listened to the radio from the 50's to the 70's, they were probably on a majority of those albums.

  24. duane639 schreef:

So, Brian's shrink was over medicating him to control him?

  25. El Ma schreef:

The performances in this movie by Cusack and Dano weren't about "looking like" Brian Wilson. The performances are about convincingly telling Wilson's story, and I must say that I had always loved Beach Boys music, but I had no idea of how tortured Wilson's life (and, his brothers') had been with a cruel and abusive upbringing. How any of these wonderful voices found a reason to sing is beyond me, much less create. Wilson's artistic range is beyond my understanding and both Cusack and Dano deserve recognition for their impressive performances, rather than criticism for failing to "look like" the man that they each portrayed.

  26. cudaj2 schreef:

Paul Dano…and John Cusack… both did a great job but had this movie been made 20-25 years ago I could see the role of both younger and older Brian going to Alan Ruck ( Cameron in Ferris Bueller's Day Off ). His resemblance to Brian is almost spot on.

  27. creekandseminole schreef:

If you really want a good representation on just how crazy Brian Wilson got, look up the Walk Hard Dewy Cox scene where he acts likes Brian Wilson. That's a pretty close representation lolz.

  28. Kaleigh Sullivan schreef:

    This film a masterpiece

  29. great movie and a touching story and a tribute to the mozart of our time…. the only downside is cusak……dano was grat as a young brian, but cusak just didnt cut it ……….but the rest made up for it

  30. Robert Maybeth schreef:

A very nice, almost brilliant biopic. Why they switched Brians mid movie? Kills the whole thing. Young Brian was talented enough to do both. Nevertheless, i have seen very few movies that capture true, God-given inspiration, along with the inevitable toadies that want to control them.

  31. Mike Webster schreef:

    john cusack sux balls.

  32. 1064project schreef:

Paul Giamatti in my opinion is a great actor.

  33. shawn lilly schreef:

This trailer makes it look like a made for TV movie.

  34. Andy Fallon schreef:

In regards to John Cusack I too had reservations after watching the trailer. However his acting in the film was excellent and his scenes stole the movie.Don't be put off the lack of Brian Wilson styling on Cusack. He really pulls off a Stella gut wrenching performance.Watch it and make your own mind up.
